At Kids First Pediatrics , our mission has always been to put children and families at the heart of everything we do. That’s why we’re so excited to introduce you to the newest member of our team, Annie Oakes, MSN, FNP-C! A Strong Foundation in Nursing A proud Nashville native, Annie has been serving patients since 2017 as a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Middle Tennessee State University , where she built the foundation for a career devoted to compassion, excellence, and patient-centered care. Discovering Her True Passion Although Annie began her career caring for adults, she soon realized her heart belonged in pediatrics. Supporting children and their families through every stage of growth and development has become her greatest joy. Annie believes in empowering parents, building trust with her patients, and creating a welcoming environment where kids can feel comfortable and cared for. Rooted in the Community Now calling Pleasant View home, Annie is excited to live and work in the same close-knit community. She loves being part of a practice that values connection, teamwork, and families’ unique needs. Her patients will quickly see her dedication to helping families feel supported, understood, and empowered in their healthcare journey. Beyond the Clinic Outside of medicine, Annie enjoys exploring new adventures. She loves curling up with a good book 📚, trying unique foods 🍲, traveling and enjoying the outdoors 🌲, and spending quality time with her loved ones 💕. At Kids First Pediatrics, we are committed to keeping children and families safe with preservative-free flu shots now available in our office. Why Get a Flu Shot? The flu can cause serious illness, especially in young children. Getting a flu vaccine is the best way to reduce the risk of flu-related doctor visits, hospitalizations, and missed school or work days. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that everyone 6 months and older receive a flu shot each year. Preservative-Free for Peace of Mind Parents often ask about preservatives in vaccines. At Kids First, all of our flu shots are preservative-free, giving you confidence that your child is getting safe, effective protection. Convenience for Busy Families We understand that families are juggling school, work, and activities. That’s why we’ve made flu vaccines as convenient as possible: No appointment is needed. Walk in during our regular walk in hours and we’ll take care of the rest. As a reminder, walk in hours are 7AM-4PM Monday through Thursday and 7AM-1PM on Friday. Whether you’re stopping by after school, on your lunch break, or while running errands, it’s easy to fit a flu shot into your schedule.
